How to sell out your next event in 30 days

Ticksit Team · 18 August 2026 · 5 min read

A step-by-step plan for the month before your event: announce early, give people a reason to book now, and follow up with the ones who looked but did not buy.

Most events do not fail because nobody wanted to come. They fail because the people who would have come heard about it too late, or meant to book and forgot. A month is enough time to fix both — if you use it deliberately.

Days 30–21: publish and announce

  • Publish the event page as soon as the date, venue and price are fixed. A live page is something people can share; a poster is not.
  • Write the description for someone who has never heard of you: what happens, who it is for, what they will leave with, and exactly where and when.
  • Email your existing contacts first. The people who came last time are the most likely to come again, and they deserve to hear before the public does.

Days 20–8: give people a reason to book now

  • Use a limited early tier — a set number of tickets at a lower price. A clear quantity is more honest and more persuasive than a vague "while stocks last".
  • Give your promoters and partners their own tracking links, so you can see which of them is actually selling and thank them accordingly.
  • Post on social two or three times a week, each time with one concrete detail: a speaker, the menu, the venue, the line-up.

Days 7–0: remind and reassure

  • Send a reminder to everyone who has booked with the practical details: parking, start time, what to bring. Fewer no-shows means a fuller room.
  • Send one last-call email to contacts who have not booked. Keep it short and specific about what they will miss.
  • On the day, have two people on the door with the check-in scanner open before doors, and the attendee list downloaded in case the signal drops.

None of this needs a big budget. It needs the event page, your contact list and a calendar — and the discipline to start 30 days out rather than 10.
